VEO Active Backpacks is a stylish, but rugged rear access camera backpack designed for carrying larger kits (or a combination of camera and camping kit) in comfort on longer treks.

PLEASE NOTE: While it includes many of the same pro-trekking features, the VEO Active Birder is designed to carry a spotting scope and birding kit, not camera kit. See product for more information.

Ultimate weatherproof material

The VEO Active is constructed using a high quality, water and tear resistant 840D Cordura Nylon material, and incorporates waterproof zips. For the wettest days, each model comes with a rain cover.

Pocket for a hydration pouch

The VEO Active incorporates a side pocket with for a hydration pouch (or more storage). Fitted with a waterproof backing, this ensures that any leaks don’t allow the water to get into your camera kit.

Power on the go

The VEO Active incorporates USB-A port is stitched into the lining of all models. Simply place your power bank of choice into the top section and connect it to the built in USB-A cable. Then attach the cable of your choice to the external USB-A point, and to your device, and you can power your camera, smartphone or other device while still having it to hand. Note: Power bank and external charging cable not provided.

Comfortable Harness System

The rear padding on the VEO Active includes a gap to allow air to flow and help keep you cool, while the padding on the shoulder straps helps spread the weight. For longer trips with heavier loads, there are adjustable chest straps and a waist belt. The waist belt is either removable (46, 49 and 53 models) or tucks away discreetly (42M models) when it’s not needed, so it doesn’t flap around as you travel.

Carry up to Two Tripods

The VEO Active includes a central tripod holder for optimal balance on the go. Alternative you can also set the backpacks up to carry a tripod on the side if that is more convenient, for example if you want to attach other kit such to the straps on the rear.

Multiple Storage Points

The VEO Active includes multiple storage points such as a top daypack section, side pockets, pockets on the shoulder straps, pockets on the waist strap (not 42M models), a detachable pouch for a water bottle or up to a 200mm lens, and a pouch to keep your accessories together (such as spare camera batteries, cables, SD cards, etc).

Camera Bags: Large Capacity

The VEO Active rear access camera compartment incorporates Vanguard’s next generation slimline, smart dividers that offer maximum customisation, while taking up the minimum space available, leaving more space for your kit.

Camera Bags: Removable Camera Compartment

The VEO Active camera compartment is removable and can be zipped for extra security when left at home or on the go.

When access to your camera is more important, simply unzip the front and tuck the top flap between the camera compartment and the inner edge of the backpack.

If you want to use it as an everyday backpack, simply remove the insert and leave your camera kit safe at home, and you can then use the front access to get to your hiking essentials.

Birdwatching Bags: Fits a spotting scope (and more)

An extended front zip allows you to access the main compartment which includes a padded tube to protect your spotting scope in the backpack, with an elasticated cord to hold it securely. This then leaves the rest of the space free to add all the other essentials to make the most of your birding trip.
